PROJECT
The State of Qatar Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan
The Qatar Pavilion features an original design inspired by Qatar's traditional sailing ship, the "dhow," and traditional Japanese joinery techniques, with design supervision by Kengo Kuma & Associates. The exhibition design, created by OMA/AMO under the theme ”From the Coastline, We Progress” conveys a narrative rooted in Qatar’s maritime heritage and its forward-looking aspirations. Through its architecture and exhibition spaces, this project tells the story of Qatar’s development from the shoreline—the source of life, culture, and trade—to its current global standing, while showcasing shared values and a long-standing, enduring cooperative partnership with Japan.
