Representative Uemura moderates the symposium by Markus Gabriel

A special lecture by philosopher Markus Gabriel will be held on the 28th August at the University of Tokyo's Yasuda Auditorium. It is co-sponsored by Index Group, Hayakawa Shobo, and the Institute of Oriental Culture at the University of Tokyo. Koichi Uemura, President of the INDEX Group, will moderate the panel discussion that will follow the lecture.
Mr. Gabriel is an up-and-coming philosopher who has been called a "rock star of philosophy" and whose words and actions have attracted attention around the world. The symposium was planned on the occasion of the publication of his new book, "The Age of Ethical Capitalism. Professor Takahiro Nakajima of the University of Tokyo's Institute of Oriental Culture and Professor Sayaka Ogawa of Ritsumeikan University's Graduate School will join Mr. Gabriel in the panel discussion.
Uemura has organized and moderated international symposiums co-sponsored by three associations of which he is a board member. In 2020, Dr. Jacques Attali, Dr. Michael Sandel in 2021, and in 2022, Dr. Muhammad Yunus were invited to give keynote speeches and to moderate panel discussions. This symposium is sponsored by CPDS, KMF, and OPPS.

The symposium will begin at 18:45 in the Yasuda Auditorium, Hongo Campus, University of Tokyo, and is free to attend. Please register in advance via the Peatix site below.
