PROJECT
Appropriate maintenance and management of facilities of the Akita Health and Welfare Agricultural Cooperative Union
TAG
In this project, nine hospitals managed and operated by JA-Akita Koseiren (JA-Akita Health and Welfare Federation) were subjected to a three-year project to optimize the maintenance and management operations of their facilities.
Project Issues
JA-Akita Koseiren (JA-Akita Health and Welfare Federation) has formulated a long-term vision to stabilize and sounden its management and financial base, and to build a healthcare delivery system that can flexibly respond to changes in the environment. Index Consulting was expected to optimize maintenance and management costs and improve profitability without compromising quality.
The services we provided
In order to understand the overall service content and cost, we scrutinized the documents related to maintenance and management, identified the content and cost of the services provided by the contractor, and proposed an improvement plan to the hospital. In doing so, we did not just reduce costs, but also proposed improvements from the perspective of what services should be provided to the hospital, such as formulating specifications that take into account the importance of the service to hospital operations. Then, in consultation with the hospital, we worked to reach a consensus on a revenue improvement policy and to optimize it.
What Index Consulting achieved
We achieved an average cost reduction of 10% in nine hospitals by reviewing the operational specifications and outsourcing costs for hospital facility maintenance, as well as optimizing the maintenance and management operations.
