After working for a design firm in the U.S. and in the Japanese construction industry, he decided to revolutionize the Japanese construction industry through project management, and in 1994 he founded and became president of International Design Exchange Inc. In 2002, he changed the company name to Index Consulting, Inc. and has been providing project management services for construction and social infrastructure.

He is a pioneer of project managers and a leading expert in corporate leadership development, and when he was a professor at the University of Tokyo, he implemented various social change projects, for which he received the Japan Academy Prize and the Imperial Prize, respectively, in 2011. In 2011, he was awarded the Japan Academy Prize and the Imperial Prize, respectively. He later became a professor emeritus at the same university, and is one of the leading academic specialists in big data analysis. In the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake, he and Uemura became the project managers of the Kesen Wide-Area Environmental Future City. He understood Index Consulting's leadership and joined the company in 2017. In 2003, he published "Science-based Business Administration," a book that explains the shortcomings of existing business administration in a logical manner, based on the logic required for management, and in an easy-to-understand manner with case studies.
He is also active as a board member of the Value Creation Forum 21, a platform for managers and researchers aiming to create new value. He was the technical director and chief designer of the Japanese team in the America's Cup, the world's top sailing competition. While working at Fuji Bank (now Mizuho FG) in the mid 1980s, he recognized the importance of Facility Management (FM) as a management method introduced to Japan, and left the bank to complete his Master of Science (MS) in FPM at Cornell University in the United States. After returning to Japan, he returned to work at Fuji Bank, where he launched a number of FM projects and established the first FM organization in a Japanese bank. After returning to Japan, he moved to NCR, where he served as the head of the real estate department and led the sale and relocation of several of the company's buildings using US-style CRE methods. Based on these experiences, he became a consultant in 2000, and has served as the Director of Strategic Planning for East Asia for Gensler, the largest design firm in the U.S., President of Interoffice, an imported office furniture company, Executive Officer of Meiho Facility Works, and Director of Consulting. Joined the company in 2019 and became the youngest director in the group's history at the age of 28. An up-and-coming female leader who travels around the world as the head of overseas infrastructure PPP (Public Private Partnership) development projects.
Having lived in Southeast Asia during her elementary, junior high, and high school years, she obtained a degree in international development studies (majoring in water environment) with the aim of reducing poverty in developing countries.
She is fluent in English, Japanese, and Spanish.
After graduating from university, she worked as a corporate sales representative for a water environment company and achieved the highest sales in her first year with the company.
While working as a sales manager, she sensed the potential of the PPP mechanism to develop infrastructure in developing countries with private-sector funds, technology, etc., and joined Index Consulting Inc. in January 2019.
In August 2019, she accomplished the conclusion of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Roads and Highways of Ghana for PPP projects at TICAD 7 (7th African Development Conference), the only Japanese company to do so.
After serving as the head of the Overseas Social Infrastructure PPP Group, in April 2021, she was appointed as a director with the establishment of Index Strategy Inc.
While traveling throughout Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and other regions, and maintaining connections with the leaders of each country, she is actively working to strengthen the foundation for the formation of social and public infrastructure PPP projects and sustainable growth based on "sampo yoshi".
In April 2023, she was appointed as Director and Executive Officer (COO) of the company.
