ANNOUNCEMENT

Index Strategy|Selected by Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry for FY2023 Subsidy Based Infrastructure FS Project for Overseas Expansion

Tokyo, Japan - [15th August 2023] - Group companies of Index, Inc. (Head Office: Minato ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kimikazu Uemura; hereinafter "Index"), Index Strategy, Inc. and Index Consulting, Inc. in collaboration with Kengo Kuma & Associates (Head Office: Minato ku, Tokyo; CEO: Minoru Yokoo), are delighted to announce their selection for the FY2023 Subsidy Based Infrastructure FS Project for Overseas Expansion.

◆FY 2023 Subsidy-Based Infrastructure FS Project for Overseas Expansion
In order to encourage Japanese firms to expand their business outreach to meet the growing global demand for infrastructure, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) is providing support for feasibility studies and promotional lobbying for overseas deployment of infrastructure by prospective firms.

As a successful recipient of this support, Index Strategy will conduct the "Feasibility Study Project for the Redevelopment of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) Facilities and Old Surrounding Towns, utilizing the PPP method in Casablanca, Morocco". The primary goals of this initiative are to conserve the value and richness of historical buildings and enhance their appeal, create new tourism promotion resources and prospects, revitalize the local economy and encourage public-private coalitions for enhanced efficiencies, and foster employment opportunities in the region. The study will also include a comprehensive survey of the project implementation, including basic planning, legal, financial, economic, risk analysis, environmental and social considerations, etc., to build consensus among key government officials on the direction of the project structure and important preconditions for the path to acquisition of the project right.

We are dedicated to contributing to the creation of a sustainable and thriving community in Casablanca, and at the same time, contribute towards Morocco’s achievement of Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through this project, which directly targets SDG-11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG-8: Decent Work & Economic Growth.

This venture also aligns seamlessly with one of the core missions of Index Group, including Index Strategy: "Resolving social issues, transforming social systems, and making contributions to international community through projects in construction, social and civil infrastructure, and facilities," and we intend to mobilize all of our group's strengths to ensure best outcomes intended for this project.

◆Comments from Kimikazu Uemura, CEO of Index
“We are thrilled about the award of this project, as it marks the first overseas expansion of the collaboration between two Index Group companies in an overseas social infrastructure PPP. The IG collaboration project in Morocco, one of the leading countries in the African continent, represents a significant step for us to showcase our expertise in infrastructure development, make a positive impact on the people of Morocco, and further our commitment to contributing to the international community.”
