I can truly contribute to the interests of my clients. That is the joy of being a project manager.

In addition to being the General Manager of the Project Management Division of Index Consulting, I also do my own proposal work for new clients.
With over 20 years of experience in project management, I am also in charge of human resource development and guidance.

Index_AnkyuI originally worked for a general contractor and was posted to Singapore as an expatriate. I originally worked for a general contractor and was posted to Singapore as an expatriate.

I had just become a project manager 22 years ago.
The project management industry was in its infancy, and it was very exciting. When I was a general contractor, I said that I no longer felt fulfilled, but at that time I was trying very hard to think of a system that would allow general contractors to make a profit. In fact, there were some projects that made a lot of profit. However, making a lot of profit means that the client, the contractor, is paying an excessive amount of cost for the project. As I kept doing this, I started to feel doubts about my work.

In contrast, the mission of a project manager is to maximize the client's profit.
In contrast, the mission of a project manager is to maximize the benefit to the client. On the other hand, I also play the role of a technical interpreter between the client and the contractor by commenting on things that the general contractor has difficulty saying to the client from an impartial standpoint.
Of course, I was able to use my previous experience and skills.
When I was stationed in Singapore, I was in charge of I was mainly in charge of cost management and contract related work. Before that, I worked as a construction manager in the field, which gave me a wide range of experience in construction. My expertise and experience in cost management and construction management has been a great asset in my current work. When I became a project manager, I felt that this was my calling.

"In large-scale projects, it is important to bring together diverse stakeholders"
I have been involved in many projects as a manager.
I have been involved in many projects as a manager, including large-scale facilities such as airports, high-rise projects, and general hospital facilities, to name a few. I have been involved in many projects as a manager.
As the scale of a project increases, the number of people involved also increases, so consensus building is difficult, but that is the role of a project manager, isn't it? I was happy to think that I was helping the client.

"Construction PM is required not only by the client, but also by the design office and general contractor"
The best part of being a project manager is that you can see the entire project from a bird's eye view.
The best part about being a project manager is that you get to see the whole project from a bird's eye view. The bigger the project, the more you can only be involved in one part of it, but as a project manager, your job is to optimize the entire project, so you need to see the whole picture. The only person who can do that, besides the client, is the project manager.
Also, one of the most exciting things, as mentioned earlier, is that your knowledge and expertise can be useful to the client.
I think one of the most interesting things about being a project manager is that it is beneficial not only to the client, but also to the design firm and general contractor.
In other words, the client is an amateur when it comes to construction. That's why we're here. We support the client's decision making and bridge the communication with the design office and general contractor. This is an important role of a project manager, and one that is also required by design firms and general contractors.

"The Future of Index Consulting, the Future of Construction Project Management"
When we think of overseas projects at Index Consulting, we mainly We are supporting Japanese companies to build factories in Southeast Asia. In the future, we expect to see projects such as smart cities.
As a company, we are focusing not only on the overseas expansion of Japanese companies, but also on so-called "gaigai-gai," or construction projects for foreign companies, so we expect to see more overseas projects in the future. There are not many domestic construction project management companies that are strong in this field, so we are looking forward to the future.
In the future, as the knowledge level of clients increases, there may be cases where they do not need us. As the knowledge level of clients increases, they may not need us in some cases.
In the past, if you left it to the general contractors, they would build the building without any trouble, even if it was a bit opaque. However, unlike the old style where design firms and general contractors would take care of everything, they have become more specialized in their respective fields of work and are now clearly separating them. This means that conflicts are more likely to occur in terms of contracts, construction schedules, and costs.
Our job is also to prevent problems in projects, so we see the need for project management increasing in the opposite direction. </span

We will continue to strive to truly contribute to the interests of our clients, based on the principle of "making everyone involved in the project happy.
