PROJECT

Workplace reform and support for selection of furniture and fixtures for Kikkoman's new R&D building construction project

The project was to build a new R&D building for Kikkoman Corporation, a company with more than 100 years of history, to strengthen and concentrate its basic and fundamental research in the field of "food and health. We assisted the company in the construction of the new R&D building by helping to reform working styles and selecting furniture and fixtures.

Project Issues

KIKKOMAN's goals for the construction of the new R&D building were "delicious memories," "job satisfaction for each and every employee," and "giving shape to dreams and fostering organizational strength. Based on these goals, we were asked to create a design concept for the interior and reform the work style, and to create a space that would surprise and inspire both inside and outside the company.

Our solution

In order to meet Kikkoman's requirements, we assisted in the bidding process to select a consulting firm that would conduct on-site surveys and internal awareness research for the reform of work styles. For the survey, we conducted a non-face-to-face web questionnaire, face-to-face interviews, and interviews with executives, as well as a workshop on "What do you want in the office of the future? We also held a workshop on "What do you want in the office of the future?" The image of the office, which is difficult to verbalize, was shared and discussed using pictures. Through these surveys, we prepared a report on the reform of work styles and sought to achieve unity of direction.

In addition, in order to create an office in line with the goals of the new R&D building and the Working Style Report, we selected a design company to bid on the interior design concept, and at the same time, we provided advice on layout planning, support for furniture and fixtures selection, and cost management to optimize costs. management to optimize costs.

In addition, since it is difficult to understand the selection of fixtures and interior furnishings only by looking at prices, specifications, and catalog photos, we organized showroom tours so that people could actually see and imagine how they would be used. In terms of cost management, we set the priorities for selection in light of the concept and the goals to be achieved, and responded by making strong and weak decisions on how to spend the budget.
