Index Group | Corporate Ethics Committee established to strengthen corporate governance

Index Group established the “Corporate Ethics Committee” on July 12, 2024 to strengthen corporate governance.

To date, the Group has established a “Compliance Helpline” as a whistleblower service (May 2019) for the prompt recognition and correction of illegal activities, etc., as well as the “Index Group Code of Conduct” (May 2023), which sets forth a code of conduct for each and every employee, in order to further establish a relationship of trust with society and to ensure thorough compliance with laws and regulations, we have decided to establish the Corporate Ethics Committee.
The Corporate Ethics Committee is responsible for determining basic policies on compliance issues, monitoring the progress of compliance promotion, discussing measures to deal with serious violations of laws and regulations, and submitting reports to the President and the Board of Directors. In addition, the committee will receive recommendations and advice from Tatsuo Kainaka, attorney-at-law, who will serve as a member of the committee as an outside expert, based on his objective standpoint and professional knowledge, which will be reflected in our efforts to further enhance the compliance system.

Under this new structure, as a corporate group involved in social and public infrastructure, we will make further efforts to operate our business with integrity and fairness based on our social responsibility.

【Tatsuo Kainaka, Attorney-at-Law Brief Personal History】
Mr. Kainaka was appointed Public Prosecutor in April 1966, and after serving as Chief Public Prosecutor of the Tokyo High Public Prosecutors Office, he became a Justice of the Supreme Court.
Thereafter, as a lawyer, he served as an outside director of Japan Airlines Corporation, Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. and other companies.
He was awarded the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun in the 2012 Fall Decoration.
