PROJECT

Kubara Honke Hokkaido Plant

This project supported optimizing the cost of the construction of Kubara Honke Shokuhin Co., Ltd.’s new plant in Hokkaido.

Project Challenges
Kubara Honke Group, which develops popular brands such as “Shobo-an” and “Kayanoya”, has been using high-quality pollock roe from Hokkaido as the raw materials for the Shobo-an’s Karashi Mentaiko. They envisioned the construction of a new plant in Hokkaido to express their feelings of gratitude.

The global situation, however, made the economy uncertain during the project period, necessitating a reduction in the originally planned budget. This resulted in a major revision of the project's scale, and Kubara Honke Shokuhin was faced with a construction cost challenge, which required Index to reduce and optimize costs.

Things Index Consulting has achieved
We devised a bidding strategy and negotiated assessments and other measures to meet the client's requirements without sacrificing functionality, while also reducing the overall project cost.

The Kubara Honke Group has launched a new company called "Hokkaido i" to plan new brand products from Hokkaido, and production began in June 2022 at this plant, which has both research and development functions.
