Index Strategy | Selected by UNIDO for the “Green industrial recovery project for Ukraine through technology transfer from and the co-creation of new business with Japan’s private industries”

Tokyo – November 11, 2025

Index Strategy Inc. is pleased to announce its selection by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to conduct a grant-funded feasibility study under the “Green industrial recovery project for Ukraine through technology transfer from and the co-creation of new business with Japan’s private industries”, funded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI), under a green industrial recovery programme for Ukraine 2024–2028.

Index Strategy, through this project, aims to accelerate Ukraine’s green recovery and enhance industrial resilience through the deployment of clean energy infrastructure. This project responds to the extensive reconstruction needs resulting from the ongoing conflict, with recovery costs estimated to exceed $411 billion (source: United Nations, Ukraine: Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment, March 2023) .

Index Strategy will apply its proprietary Computational Social System Dynamics (CSSD) technology, developed by Dr. Hideaki Miyata, to design efficient and resilient renewable energy systems tailored to Ukraine’s recovery context. The feasibility study will evaluate the techno-economic feasibility of integrating renewable energy and battery storage solutions, optimized through CSSD, and identify optimum strategies for scalable, low-carbon energy deployment.

Over the 12-month study period, the project aims to deliver a bankable pilot concept and a roadmap for implementation via Public-Private Partnership (PPP) frameworks.

The study is expected to significantly enhance Ukraine’s economic resilience through decentralized renewable energy production. It will also promote sustainable industrial development aligned with circular economy principles, improving the competitiveness of Ukrainian industries through compliance with EU environmental and decarbonization standards, and create new opportunities for Ukrainian citizens through job creation and improved livelihoods.
